"Eagerly savour each new day and the taste of its mouth. Never lose sight of the thrill and the joy of living" 'Joy of Living' by Ewan McColl.

Police Officer, soldier, financial planning consultant, tour guide, researcher, medal mounting & framing; truly a long and varied life.

Married to a wonderful woman, Helen, for 10 wonderful years (we've actually been married for almost 40 years but only 10 of them were any good!) with whom I am still deeply in love, father to three fantastic sons, Euan, Calum, and Cameron of whom I am incredibly proud, and grandad to Destiny, the apple of my eye, and to Jack, my accomplice! (It's a man thing).

I've been a passionate follower of Rugby Union as player, coach, referee almost my entire life and, most recently, a hypermanic spectator.

Yes, not a bad life. I just hope I helped more than I hindered, succoured more than harmed. My epitaph? "He tried to be a good person".
