DavidJose, FAIA is a Design Principal in AECOM LA office. His background in Europeanurban design has led to creating spaces that have a strong sense of engagementwith their surrounding environment. Projects where David was the lead designerhave received more than 20 national, international and regional awards since2009 alone.

He has served as AECOM’s lead designer and has provided principalleadership in elevating design quality firm-wide. David's passionate concern forhealthier, inspiring environments remains one of the major drivers of hisdesign approach. Comprehensive attention to user needs, energy savings,sustainable design and special experiential quality has been a constant inDavid’s designs. His designs engage students, stimulate learning, and providean appropriate civic presence for their communities. “When we enter a trulyexcellent architectural environment it enriches our experience, lifts ourspirits. We may feel quiet joy by moving through the site and the building,enjoying the wonders of spatial discovery. That is the feeling I would like toprovide for our projects’ users” said David.

David, FAIA, holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from theUniversity of Zagreb School of Architecture in Croatia, and a Master of DesignStudies from Harvard University. He is a frequent design critic for studentreviews at American universities.

David has spent the last 25 years specializing in the design ofaward-winning educational facilities specifically designed to enhance eachclient’s goals, provide the flexibility needed to adapt to changing pedagogies,and incorporate sustainable strategies that significantly reduce lifecyclecosts. Many of his schools are among the most energy efficient in the nation.Through frequent presentations regarding the impact of sustainability anddesign on learning, both at the AIA National Convention and other eventsfocused on school facilities, planning and administration, David has positivelyand directly influenced the lives of tens of thousands of students, teachers,and the public. “As architects, we not only have an opportunity to change ourenvironment through carefully crafted design, we have an opportunity toinfluence the way people think and live,” said David.

David was born (14 February,1960 in Chicago, Illinois. Davidlost his wife (Henna Jose) March 5th, 2008 living him to take care of theironly child Andre. Davis is a honest, simple, caring and loving man.
