David Webster

David Webster is an attorney and general counsel with extensive experience advising CEOs, boards, and high-level federal government agencies. David Webster began his professional career as an associate with Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago, Illinois, and after six years with the firm, he was elected as a partner. While there, David Webster was the firm’s principal antitrust pre-merger notification attorney. He handled contracts and governance in addition to being assigned long-term work at the firm’s Washington office, handling regulatory and legislative matters for its largest client. After 12 years with Winston & Strawn, David Webster was awarded a one-year White House Fellowship in Washington, D.C., and subsequently gained a position as Special Assistant to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During the White House Fellowship year, David Webster was involved in discussions with national and international leaders, and he traveled regularly to government and military facilities within the United States and abroad. At the FBI, David Webster was also responsible for creating written recommendations for the Director involving legal and management issues, as well as review of legislative action proposals that were prepared and presented to the Director by the FBI’s senior management team. Additionally, David Webster performed legislative work for the FBI with the House and Senate Select Intelligence Committees. His exceptional work during this time led David Webster to a position as the Assistant General Counsel for Multilateral Negotiations with the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, he helped draft and negotiate terms for high-level national security treaties, chiefly at venues overseas. After five years in this role, David Webster became Vice President and General Counsel at A.T. Kearney, Inc., in Chicago. In this capacity, David Webster contributed to the company’s international expansion by serving as the confidential advisor and counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and the company’s executive team. David Webster worked with A.T. Kearney from 1994 until 2002, at which time he became of counsel for Butler Rubin Saltarelli & Boyd LLP.
