David Ross
chaplain, Writer, and Public Speaker in Tampa, FL
I am captivated by a strong sense of calling. A quality-oriented professional, I hold true integrity to be the rarest and highest of qualities. I think it would be really cool to change the world, but until then I want to do the most possible good wherever I am.
I have more than 20 years of experience in the care of people in tender situations. I have served sixteen of those years in the chaplaincy ministry with the Adventist Health System (now AdventHealth), an incredibly ecumenical work. I have served the city for the past eleven years as a chaplain with the police department. In my previous experience I worked as an EMT and a CNA. Each experience over the course of my career has contributed to a rich whole. I have cultivated a deep love for people and discerning the heart and mind of the public.
My current project, Learning to Breathe, forms the foundation for a revisionary theory of biblical pneumatology contextualized for the contemporary global mindset. Simply put, it is our reason for living - an undeniable verity about the human family and our spirituality. It challenges both the scientific and theological mainstreams and has the potential to change the dialogue between them.
I have been married to my wife, Adriana, for twenty years. We have two boys, Ethan (15) and Austin (12), and we currently live in Tampa, Florida. In my leisure, I enjoy the outdoors - almost as much as our dog, Luna. If it were up to Luna and I, we would sleep out under the stars every night.
I am a husband, father, brother, friend, supporter, writer, teacher, speaker, theologian, and philosopher. Otherwise, I am just learning to breathe like everyone else.
