2009 Mathias Böhm and me founded SuitArt.
SuitArt is a brand for tailor made suits.
We started from scratch - no capital to start with and no experience (I was 20 years old, when I visited many manufacturers of made to measure suits - and travelled back home with 200 fabric samples and 3 suits.)
We started selling suits from the parlor of my parents - customers we found through the internet. The first month we got 4 clients.
2 Months later we could rent a store in our village (Frick - population: 5000). This sales floor was upstairs - there was no passing trade. But the first month we had reached a revenue of 30.000 Swiss Francs (about 30'000 USD). All this customers we acquired through the internet - one of them travelled 2 hours to order a Johnny Cash like suit in the style of the fifties. Our niche had been perfect: We sold all that suits nobody else could offer. Since SuitArt only produced what has been sold already we had no inventory and very low risk.
