David Badia

Hey, I introduce myself, David Badia, an Industrial Engineer with a postgraduate degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I am also certified in MES/MOM (*) competency by MESA International.

Throughout my career, I have served as a dedicated consultant for IT systems applied to manufacturing and logistics in global enterprises. My expertise lies in providing cutting-edge process control and automation solutions, particularly specializing in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. I have had the privilege of speaking at conferences organized by AEFI, MESA, and other pharma engineering events.

My professional journey has seen me as a project manager and senior consultant for prominent companies such as Almirall, Boehringer Ingelheim, BBraun Medical, Lacer, MSD, Novartis, Grup Lasem, Gallina Blanca, ICI Paints, Esteve Química, Henkel Technologies, Nestle, Croexa, BDF Nivea, Levi Strauss, Volkswagen Navarra, SEAT Martorell, among others.

In my current role, I am actively collaborating with clients to enhance the productivity, quality, and flexibility of their plant operations. I focus on strengthening human resources through key information visualization tools. As a consultant, I am deeply involved in the automation and information technology strategy for various chemical and pharmaceutical companies. I am implementing solutions in MES, KPI, PDM, and life cycle management of systems based on ISA standards and good manufacturing practices (GMP) for validation and quality qualification.

I am proud to be the founder and active member of the "IoT & Embedded Systems WG" within the "Industry 4.0 Commission" at "Engineers of Catalonia" (EIC). Additionally, I contribute to the professional community by providing training courses on Industrial IoT, IoT cloud platforms, and OPC UA technology. I am a teaching team member of the "EIC Update Program" by Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya and the "Industry 4.0 Master" by UPC BarcelonaTECH.
