Effingham County, GA

I was first introduced to Effingham County while I was a co-op student from Georgia Tech working at Union Camp (now International Paper). I was engaged to Rebecca Heidt who is a Salzburger descendant and I quickly learned about the great heritage of Effingham County.

After my time at Union Camp I was hired on at Gulfstream Aerospace as their first full time website manager in 1998. It was a great opportunity to be deeply involved in the online revolution that was about to ensue. In early 2000s, I help start several small internet companies as I attempted to grab the brass ring of the internet boom. After the boom went bust I went to work for First Multiple Listing Service (real state listings database) in Atlanta as a technology consultant. I quickly became their CIO and formed a team of 8 specialists as we tried to manage the insanity of the housing boom. As that boom went bust I relocated to Boca Raton, FL to work for a national real estate technology firm. I soon realized that one of my main task was thinning out my team of 46 employees spread throughout the country down to 6.

All of this experience taught me how to manage growth smartly and that there are no guarantees in life. So Rebecca and I decided that we wanted to raise our 7 children in an environment that was full of love and lasting relationships. So we started US eBusiness Solutions and moved back to Effingham County. We now provide strategies for online success which include websites, social media integration, email marketing, ecommerce, and mobile solutions just to name a few.

Throughout our lives Rebecca and I have kept community service as a priority. We have helped start several chapters of Habitat for Humanity, are very active in our church (Zion Lutheran) and serve on many civil organizations in the county. We are living proof that investments of time and talent in your community will always produce benefits in multiple.

We look forward to the opportunity to continue our commitment to serve through our involvement in Rotary.
