A board-certified psychiatrist based in Chevy Chase, MD, Dr. David Chen has worked with numerous patients across the metropolitan Washington, DC, area. Throughout his career, David Chen, MD, has received multiple honors, most recently, the Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Teaching Excellence Award from the Children’s National Medical Center, where he has been a faculty member since 2015. He has also served as a clinical research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Chen has authored or co-authored several studies, such as “Exome sequencing of a large family identifies potential candidate genes contributing risk to bipolar disorder.” The study, co-authored with several other psychiatrists, was published in 2018.
Alongside his Chevy Chase private practice, Dr. Chen has served with numerous organizations. Since 2018, for example, he has been a clinical supervisor at George Washington University’s Department of Psychiatry. Since earning his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, he has focused his work on mental disorders in adolescents and children.
