David Coates

A man of varied experience in law, government and business, David Coates holds firm to the philosophy that all are entitled to stellar legal services regardless of ability to pay. To that end, he has created Scenic City Estate Planning with an eye to providing affordable estate planning services to the Chattanooga area. A majority of Americans do not have a last will and testament or other estate planning documents. David aims to provide these important documents at a reasonable price to ensure property distribution of your property according to your desires.

David graduated from Stetson University College of Law with honors and was licensed to practice law in 2006. He initially accepted a position as corporate counsel with Nextrade Holdings, Inc. He was instrumental in the formation of Anderen Bank, a de novo bank in Clearwater, Florida. After the formation of the bank, David subsequently became an associate at Christian and Associates, a boutique criminal defense and immigration law firm in Tampa, Florida.

Heeding the call of his country, David joined the U.S. Army and served two deployments, where he served in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. He received numerous awards and citations for his service. As a judge advocate, David served as Chief of Client Services where he practiced a wide variety of legal disciplines, including wills, trusts and estate planning, family law, immigration law and a wide variety of other matters. He has literally drafted hundreds of wills for both military and civilian clients.
