David Conway Solicitor
David Conway is the founder and principal solicitor at David Conway & Solicitors. Established in 1972, the firm provides a range of legal services including commercial and residential property law, commercial law, company law, litigation and leasehold enfranchisement.
Specialising in commercial and property law, David is an expert in leasehold enfranchisement. Key projects he has advised on include the acquisition of the Piccadilly Plaza complex in Manchester; London Trocadero; London Pavilion, and Domino’s Pizza.
More recently he acted for Advanced Oncotherapy PLC, a developer of the next generation of particle therapy systems, advising on transactions and legal matters related to the business development of proton therapy treatment for cancer radiology.
David led a delegation for the Leasehold Enfranchisement Association in the 1990s, which directly resulted in changes to the enfranchisement law introduced by the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993.
Subsequently he went on to work on a number of important cases through the Tribunal and Court system. These include the landmark decision of the House of Lords in Shalson v John Lyons Charity, concerning discounting for tenants’ improvements.
In 2015 the firm won an ACQ Global award for Niche Law Firm of the Year. The awards recognise excellence across the legal world.
