In a career that spans more than three decades, David D'Addario has driven growth for a number of production and recycling companies in the metals sector. He got into the industry following his 1984 graduation from Yale University, and since that time, he has served in leadership positions with NEROC, TOMRA, and other nationally and internationally prominent recycling companies. Also a former executive with Wise Recycling, LLC, and its parent company, the Wise Metals Group LLC, David D'Addario led the organization during a time when it annually produced more than 1 billion pounds of can stock for clients in the food and beverage industry.

David D'Addario now focuses his attention on the production and supply of aluminum base metals as the chairman and CEO of New Day Aluminum LLC and its affiliate, DADA Holdings, LLC. He has led New Day Aluminum since 2001 and recently expanded the scope of his responsibilities to include DADA. David D'Addario has subsequently grown the company by driving several key international partnership agreements and acquisitions. In late 2017, for example, he facilitated the acquisition by New Day's Dutch subsidiary of a fused alumina plant in southern France, previously owned by a subsidiary of Imerys S.A., the multinational industrial materials group.
