I began my Alcoa Inc. career in 1980 as an R/D Engineer at the Alcoa Technical Center. I have been involved in a wide range of technologies and collaborated with Alcoans worldwide. I worked in product and process development, and trained in SPC techniques. I've provided tech support to many ATC projects. Most recently I managed ATC’s melting, recycling and dross processing portfolio and helped develop dross & energy reduction Kaizen techniques. I authored 7 patents, 3 pre-pubs and a host of internal and external papers. I worked on minority relations, ATC’s Diversity Steering Committee, and ATC’s Fatality Prevention Team. Recognized, industry-wide, for my work and knowledge deployment in several safety areas. I had oversight of several ATC research facilities and test apparatus. Outside of Alcoa, I held executive board positions on several local professional society chapters. I was involved in coordinating various exhibits at Engineers’ Week at the Carnegie Science Center and the MS&T Materials Mini-Camps on behalf of these societies. I'm an Ad Honorem member of the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Dept. of the University of PR – Mayagüez. I retired from Alcoa Inc. as a Sr. Project Leader in 2012. I relocated to the Pocono Mountains area of PA to be closer to my family. I now am a Specialized Business Consultant.
