David Dobbs

David Dobbs writes features and essays for publications including The New York Times, Atlantic, National Geographic, Slate, Wired, and Nature, and at his blog, Neuron Culture. His stories are regularly chosen for leading "Best of" annual anthologies of science and sports writing. He is now writing a book, working title The Orchid and the Dandelion (Crown), that explores the notion that the genes and traits that underlie some of our most troublesome behaviors and states of mind — madness, despair, hatred, aggression — also help generate some of our greatest strengths and accomplishments.

He lives in Vermont.
