While there are many threads in the fabric of my life, a major source of passion came about by watching humans launch into space, land on the moon and safely return to Earth. Overcoming such difficult problems inspired me.

Since I had a high level of comfort with mountaineering and wilderness travel, exposure to ham radio and experience with emergency medicine (EMT-B), I volunteered as a first responder with Search & Rescue. We provided emergency medical assistance to the general public in wilderness environments, searched for lost people, assisted the police in criminal investigations, and provided informational support to users of the wilderness in King County Washington.

As a professional, I have always strived to fulfill my obligations. An example of my successful business philosophy was my acceptance of a National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Center for Super-Computing Applications (NCSA) two-week workshop on Scientific Visualization. My proposal was selected from a nationwide pool of people who were competing for this program. Of the 20 people selected, I was the only one without a PhD or MD.

I have produced successful results to challenges across industry, government, and academia. Diverse roles have included: engineering, writing and program management. Combine my professional career with my volunteer experience; one can be assured of my trustworthiness and calmness under dynamic situations. On a personal level, I do onto others as I would have them do onto me. Taking life, one step at a time ;-)
