David Girardi DO

Aside from his clinical work, hospitalist David Girardi, DO, has published several articles in leading publications in his field. David Girardi, DO, wrote “Case Report: A Case of Magnesium Wasting Nephropathy,” which was published in the Journal of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and co-wrote “An Unusual Presentation of Myasthenia Gravis” and “Bone Physiology: A Literature Review.” In addition, he co-authored another article that appeared in the Journal of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, entitled “Hepatorenal Syndrome: A Literature Review.” During his senior year of college, he co-wrote a biochemistry thesis called “The Effect of Caldesmon, A Smooth Muscle Inhibitor, on the Binding of Cardiac Actin and Myosin,” which he and his partner presented at the American Chemical Society Annual Symposium in Anaheim, California. Currently, David Girardi, DO, is a Hospitalist Physician at Brookville Hospital in Western Pennsylvania. He recently accepted the position and serves as the primary physician working with patients on the medical and surgical floor and the Extensive Care Services Unit. From 2009 until 2011, Dr. Girardi functioned as Medical Resident Physician at Clarion Hospital, also in Pennsylvania, where he directed in- and outpatient medical services and completed his residency in osteopathic family medicine. Previously, David Girardi, DO, acted as a Primary Care Physician at the Altoona Urgent Care Center, worked at the Roxborough Memorial Hospital, and served an osteopathic emergency medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, located in Bethlehem. Dr. Girardi completed his internship in osteopathic medicine at Lehigh Valley after graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with his DO in 2003. David Girardi, DO, has received recognition for his academic accomplishments, including being named on the dean’s list at Saint Vincent College all four years of his undergraduate studies and winning the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award. As an undergraduate, he worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant at the Labtrobe Area Hospital. In medical school, David Girardi was presented with a Board of Trustees Scholarship and was listed in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. Dr. Girardi maintains his membership in Alpha Lambda Delta, a national collegiate honor society, and Sigma Sigma Phi, a national osteopathic medicine honor society.
