I believe that everything in this world begins and ends with stories, and it's up to us to find out how to tell it. We all have within us, this primal need to share our stories, even when they don't seem like stories at all. When the mathematician scribbles his complexities on a blackboard, he's telling his version of a story. When an astrophysicist explains the intricacies of the Big Bang; when a biologist explains the steps of the theory of evolution; when a small child draws a picture of a house and her family in crayon; when a doctor announces "it's a boy!" or even when he says "we've lost her." ...it's all a story. My whole life has been surrounded by the creative arts. By methods of storytelling. When I was young, I used to draw little cartoon characters in a notebook and build cities of Lego with my best friend. In 5th grade I began making my first animations (a growing flower, the Batmobile charging out of a tunnel, and a pod of Orca breaching off the bow of a ship) using a program called "HyperCard". In 7th grade - and all through Highschool - I took to music. Playing the Trumpet and French Horn, taking every Jazz program available, both instrumental and vocal. I took numerous extracurricular programs that included musical composition and orchestration. I learned to write poetry and lyrics (some of which became award winners) and wrote various short-stories and speeches. In College I attended Vancouver Film School and studied Classical and Digital Character Animation before taking jobs in animation studios like Mercury Filmworks and EA Sports. On my 30th birthday, I self-published my first novel: "Mirage - The First of the Nascentian Chronicles" and officially became an Author. Today, Mirage is 2 years old, and her sequel, "EMENDAR" is nearing completion, with another mini-series of micro-stories called "The Only Death" is being released sequentially online and free to read on my website. I believe everyone has stories to tell. So why not tell them? What's your story?
