David Leuschen

David Leuschen is the Founder and Senior Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings, a private equity firm focusing on growth capital investments in the energy and power sectors. Prior to founding Riverstone in 2000, Mr. Leuschen was a Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and founder and head of the Goldman Sachs Global Energy and Power Group.

Outside of his successful business endeavors, Mr. Leuschen is an avid outdoorsman who spends as much time as possible on Switchback Ranch, his 160,000 acres of land near the northeast corner of Yellowstone Park. The ranch supports one of the area's largest commercial beef businesses, a cutting horses business and an outfitting company that offers guided hunting trips in the Rockies.

Mr. Leuschen is also a dedicated philanthropist. In 1998 he founded the David M. Leuschen Charitable Foundation to support ranching communities in Montana and Wyoming and is an active supporter of his alma mater, Dartmouth College. Over the years, David has dedicated both his time and knowledge to the arts, supporting music and public radio and serving as a contributor and funder for a number of films.
