David graduated from Albion College in '96, and holds a masters degree in public policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas, and a masters degree in International Peace and Conflict Studies from the Institute of Peace and Justice, University of San Diego where he was a Gandhi Scholarship recipient. In May of 2011, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Florida State College of Law. He is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.
David was employed as a judicial information analyst for the Office of Court Administration in Austin, TX (1999-2001), a policy advisor at the Environmental Protection Agency in Illinois (2004-5), and a policy analyst at Compassion and Choices in Portland, OR (2006-7). He has interned at the Economic Development Administration, United States Department of Commerce in Washington DC, and as a student attorneys at Legal Services of North Florida in Tallahassee and the Washtenaw County Office of the Public Defenders. David also served in the United States Peace Corps in Guatemala from 2001-2003.
David's professional interests lie in immigration, consumer protection, employment, civil rights, human rights and international law and policy. In addition to law, David's interests include travel, soccer, basketball, pool, literature, and film.
He currently resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
