David McIntyre - Beaufort
administrator and assistant principal in Beaufort, South Carolina
David McIntyre was born in northern California in 1972 to Daniel and Nancy McIntyre. David's father was a police officer and his mother was a stay home mother. Growing up in Livermore, California, he attended Christensen Elementary School, East Avenue Middle School and graduated from Livermore High School. Growing up David was actively involved in youth sports, soccer, baseball and golf. In high school he focused primarily on golf and became a top flight amateur golfer in the Northern California Golf Association.
David graduated from High School in 1990 and began attending the University of California at Stanislaus with a major focus on History and qualified for the CSUS golf team. During David's second golf season after red-shirting his freshman year, he finished 3rd overall at the CSU Stanislaus Warrior annual tournament while playing on the CSUS B-team. During the event he fired off an impressive 74-68-76 finishing behind roomate Lance Johnson and Abeline Christian superstar Jeev Milkha Singh. Jeev Milkha Singh would later go on to complete an impressive career on the European PGA tour.
David transferred following this season and went on to play for the University of California at Davis under then coach Jim Sochor. While attending a tournament in Sacramento, David was encouraged by his old CSUS coach Jim Haney to pursue a career in teaching. Within two years he was back at CSUS working on a teaching credential. Since acquiring his teaching certificate in 1996, David has worked as an English/social studies teacher for 10 years, and has been currently a school administrator now for 10 years.
