David Meza

coach, Public Speaker, and Personal Trainer in San Mateo

Hey I'm David, and I am enthusiastic about helping people change their lives for the better. Up until 5 years ago I was addicted to drugs and alcohol and had been in and out of prison for most of my adult life. For the past few years I have been on a mission to help others get sober and live a better life through fitness, discipline, and personal development. I've worked with over 200 chemically dependent criminal offenders.

My purpose comes from the pain I’ve personally endured and overcome.

From 2020-2022, in my roles as house manager and program facilitator at the Jericho Project drug rehabilitation program, I ran bi-weekly groups and did one-on-one counseling with approximately 130 rehabilitation clients, taught them life skills, social skills, vocational skills, effective communication, budgeting, and how to reframe their perspectives and change their mindsets in order to become productive members of society. I was also responsible for drug testing our clients and for contracting the client employment opportunities that brought in approximately $800,000 a month in revenue to fund/run the program. I also ran the fitness department, instructing classes and designing programs for clients to assist them in their recovery through dedication to physical fitness, and was also responsible for the day to day transportation of clients so that they could go to job sites, doctor’s appointments, and grocery shopping.

For the last year I have been managing a sober living house in San Mateo, working as a personal trainer, and am currently in the process of developing my own rehabilitation program based on the best practices I’ve learned and the philosophy I’ve developed throughout my personal recovery journey.
