Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada

I began my final year of teacher training by taking an internship teaching a grade 7 class of 38 students at Marigold Elementary in Victoria B.C. My first teaching job was as a P.E. Specialist at Matsqui Elementary in the Abbotsford School District. I Moved to teaching grade 7, and began taking my Master Degree in Educational Administration in the University of Victoria over three consecutive summers. In my final year of course work, I was offered a vice-principalship at Betty Gilbert Elementary in the Langley School District. After three years as a vice-principal, I accepted my first principalship at Mt. Lehman Elementary in the Abbotsford school district. I served as a principal for the Abbotsford School District for 16 years. I left the Abbotsford School District and was etremely happy to accept a position at Parkside Elementary back in the Langley School District. I am currently the principal of Parkside Elementary. I have a fantastic vice-principal in Cathy Gracie. We are developing a dynamic and positive learning community through collaboration with a great staff of teachers, S.E.A.s and support workers, as well as a supportive and eager to help parent community. Our students are the most important part of our educational learning community. We seek to provide the best, positive and most caring environment for them to learn in. I will end with this quote, which is core of my view of my role as the Principal of Parkside Elementary.

"People don't carre about how much you know, until they know about how much you care, about them." - Zig Zieglar
