David Becker
A finance executive, consultant, and writer with more than two decades of experience in his field, David Becker currently maintains a diversified practice at Fortuity LLC in Great Neck, New York. Commanding a long and impressive professional history, David Becker laid the foundation for his career as an undergraduate at Franklin & Marshall College (F&M;) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. From 1984 to 1988, David Becker pursued studies in a wide range of topics at F&M;, ultimately declaring his major in Economics. Upon graduation from F&M; with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in May of 1988, David Becker immediately entered the world of finance and investment banking, securing an entry-level role as a Credit Analyst for Manufacturers Hanover Corporation. After a year with Manufacturers Hanover, David Becker began an intensive information technology training program at Morgan Stanley, in which he prepared for a position as a Trading Analyst in the company’s Foreign Exchange Trading Group. By 1994, David Becker had joined Ezra Zask Associates / Rayner & Stonington as a Hedge Fund Trader, where he managed a versatile portfolio of commodity, fixed income, and foreign exchange products. From there, David Becker entered into a lengthy period at Citigroup Inc., during which time he would ascend from his position as Vice President of the Proprietary Trader Fixed Income Division at Citibank International PLC to Managing Director and Global Head of the Citigroup Commodity Group. In 2004, David Becker left Citigroup to take a role as Portfolio Manager for Trivium Capital Management LLC, followed by a stint as Portfolio Manager and Managing Director for D.B. Zwirn and Co. Since then, David Becker has refocused his attention on the analysis of global financial markets, writing about this and other related topics in his consulting work at Fortuity LLC.
