I spend most days talking about information markets, punk rock, good food, the promise and peril of living in Northern California, ancient history, extreme travel, what NYC used to be like 'back in the day' and what a husk it's since become, my wife and children...

I co-founded Premise via finance and academia.

Some things you may not know about me:

• I married my Greek teacher, with whom I have three glorious kids
• I contemplated joining national intelligence services out of college
• I studied more dead languages than I care to admit

In former lives I have been:

• a quant
• a rare books dealer
• a garde manger for a now-famous TV chef
• a Greek and Latin tutor
• a rock-and-roll drummer

I've also been arrested in more than one country, usually for hooliganism, double dealing, public intoxication or curfew violation.
