David M. M. Taffet has had a career that has spanned law, investment banking, private equity, not-for-profits, turnarounds, buy-outs, management, and startups.

Along the way, Taffet has had the good fortune of, among other things, working his way through college and law school, building his own businesses, meeting the payroll needs of 100s of employees, raising enormous amounts of debt and equity on behalf of his own ventures and on behalf of others', evaluating the merits of others' ventures, turning others' enterprises around, and working Internationally in varied industries with geographically-dispersed operations.

David Taffet enjoyed the real world experience essential to assuming leadership positions not with a sense of entitlement, but rather with a healthy appreciation of the work ethic and personal sacrifice necessary to complete the small things that prove fundamental in accomplishing great things.

On the photography front, David Taffet has exhibited in 3 countries and has received numerous accolades. For almost 40 years, Taffet carried and still carries a bulky, but familiar Nikon everywhere he goes. David Taffet's travels have included over 50 countries and every state in the United States.

Taffet's camera is his calling card, an access key, an instrument for connecting, a medium for seeing, and a way of making the invisible visible. His camera is the soul of Taffet's expression. Photography is David Taffet's religion.

Taffet focuses almost exclusively on intimate “street” photography. He works in close proximity with his subjects, using a wide-angle lens to sensitively compose complex and intriguing images. David Taffet looks not to capture pictures of interesting things, but rather to create compelling compositions. Taffet is as excited by each edge of the frame as he is about the foreground and the background. David Taffet never stages his scenes. Instead, he works with the environment as it unfolds before his eyes.

David Taffet is rarely part of the community that invites him in (READ: “Foreigner”—either by nationality, race, religion, class and/or gender) and he uses a large camera. Taffet could not be more conspicuous. In spite of that, people generally respond well to him and invite him into their lives. Most importantly, people allow Taffet to disappear, to delight in his invisibility and to capture raw scenes and emotions--authentically and honestly.
