David Torstenson

In a nutshell: I'm a journalist, educator, and musician based out of Los Angeles, California.

I like to tell stories. All of them are true. Some are slightly embellished.

I'm from a small town in Nevada, but my work has taken me around the world and back: over the past six years, I've lived in Iraq, China, Latvia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, and Turkey. I've only been kicked out of three of those places so far.

I love NYC, R.E.M., good coffee, the accordion, and the Kurds.
