Dave grew up in South Texas where he was exposed to the grim world of mass gun violence at a young age. He gained experience working in the relief effort for communities affected by gun violence. With these experiences has come a calling to tell the stories of affected communities in a way that is respectful.
In addition to mass violence he has a fervor for sports, politics, and music. Today he has mobilized these passions into his journalism producing sports content, political and social commentary, as well as musical analysis.
He graduated from Texas Lutheran University where he studied communications, business, and music. Currently he is a masters candidate at The University of Oregon school of journalism.
