As an educator for almost three decades, David has been teaching the cello at numerous educational institutions and giving private cello lessons at his studio as well as conducting youth orchestras. His many students range from kindergarteners to teachers, housewives to office workers, doctors to lawyers, professors to retirees.
In Hong Kong, David was a cello teacher at (the British equivalent of outstanding schools) Diocesan Preparatory School, Diocesan Girls' Junior School, Good Hope Primary School, Marymount Secondary School, St. Paul's Co-educational College Primary School, St. Stephen's College, St. Stephen's Girls Primary School, Hong Kong Baptist University, and The Education University of Hong Kong, among others.

For more than two decades David has performed in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Uruguay, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States, as well as in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. In summer 2014, he was invited to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.
David was a soloist with the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and has been a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta for over a decade. Apart from performing as a cellist, he also organized an orchestra in Hong Kong which has performed music by such composers as Bach, Beethoven, Durufle, Faure, Handel, Haydn, Mahler, Mozart, Rutter and Stravinsky.
