David Worley is a retired financial executive who lives in Charlotte, NC, and Dallas, TX. Over the course of his 30+-year career, he’s worked as an executive in financial services and capital markets, where he became known as a dynamic leader who consistently achieves results that exceed expectations. No matter what he does, David Worley exceeds at creating, launching, and executing complex financial products, market conditioning, market placement, and positioning. Over the years, he’s built numerous highly successful businesses with high levels of returns, and worked at two major financial institutions: Fannie Mae and Wachovia. Here, he gained a reputation for both meeting and exceeding goals.
Recently, David Worley retired from finance. While David hasn't ruled out returning to the market, he spends most of his free time investing in apartments, traveling, playing golf acting as a political advisor. As a regular donor to the American Heart Association, United Way and the American Cancer Society, David is no stranger to philanthropy.
Alzheimer’s and senior care have a personal association with David Worley. Both David’s father and mother-in-law suffered from Alzheimer’s, and watching them suffer from the symptoms of this crippling disease was a difficult experience that left a big impression on him. Despite the fact that it’s so prevalent, Alzheimer’s is a disease that’s not terribly well understood, and current treatments are only able to help with symptoms of the disease. Because of this, David Worley Fannie Mae is working on establishing a charity that will provide in-home assistance to take care of people who are suffering from Alzheimer’s and assist the caregivers. Although the cliché “the children are the future” is over-used, that doesn’t make it any less true.
Summer camp was an important part of growing up for David, his wife, and their daughter. David’s daughter played basketball growing up, which meant that she played basketball with a number of underprivileged inner-city kids in Charlotte. One girl that their daughter met through playing basketball, who grew up in a poor part of Charlotte. Her grandmother was not capable of giving support and she had no parents to speak of. David and his family took the girl under their wing to help her change her path and make a different life for herself. She now has a successful career in retail.
