David Zuckerman
Durable Ventures, Inc., a company devoted to developing product-oriented businesses, was founded in Phoenix by David Zuckerman in 2010. Mr. Zuckerman began working in manufacturing at age 15. He studied architecture at the New York Institute of Technology and Arizona State University, before returning to his early interest and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 1993, Zuckerman began serving as an Industrial Designer at Inspired Concepts, Inc. After two years with this firm, he moved to Phoenix in 1995 to cofound Raytech Corporation, starting as the company's Design Director. David Zuckerman eventually took on the role of President there, a position he held from 2005 to 2010. At Raytech, which worked with clients to turn concepts into viable products, David gained experience for his future role at Durable Ventures. David Zuckerman also served as President of Express Manufacturing International, Inc., between 2003 and 2010. David Zuckerman established Durable Ventures after successfully launching other product-oriented ventures. David works with a variety of experts to complement his solid experience in the fields of engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, consumer research, and leadership. Targeting hard goods that have a relatively low cost of market entry, Durable Ventures uses its management team's skill to develop and structure product-oriented companies, helping them gain stability and strategy in their early years. Durable Ventures focuses its investments on industrial and consumer products, such as house wares and ergonomic equipment and devices. As President of Durable Ventures, David Zuckerman holds membership in the Industrial Designers Society of America and the Arizona Technology Council. He has also served on the planning committee for Invest Southwest's Capital Conference for the past eight years, and recruited the conference's 2010 keynote speaker. He has appeared on Invest Southwest TV to discuss his work with Durable Ventures. In his leisure time, David Zuckerman reads books and writes about life's often-unnoticed details on his blog, Artifacts and Observations.
