I am a Chartered Governance Professional and a member of the leadership team of the Scottish branch of my professional body, the Chartered Governance Institute.
I originally read civil engineering and specialised in highway and junction design; with the highlight of my career being the design of the Brockworth Interchange (M5 Junction 11A) in Gloucestershire, England. After a stint teaching mathematics in Essex, I read health studies and mental health in Glasgow and Lanarkshire, specialising in biopsychosocial interventions for eating disorders and functional neurological disorders. Now I am a doctor of philosophy in information science with emphasis in information behaviour and a keen interest in data science. I completed a course in applied ethics at the University of Edinburgh and currently reading for an MSc in digital leadership at Heriot Watt University during my spare time.
