Davina O'Garro

I am Davina O'Garro, happy, fun-loving and totally in love with all things music.

I am the Music Radio Producer at BBC Radio 1xtra working with national DJ's and presenters Tim Westwood and Trevor Nelson to name a few. I work with the BBC Radio 1 Music Team, allowing me to influence the careers of many of the chart topping acts of today.

I am a recognised music tastemaker and was chosen as an influential UK-based music critic to help put together the BBC Sound of 2012 list by naming my favourite new acts of this year.

During my time at BBC Radio 1Xtra, I have partaken in music supervision roles within film and TV projects. In 2009 I consulted on the music for Jail Tales, a project consisting of a series of viral You Tube videos, short films, exclusive music performances, BBC Three program and Radio 1 documentary.

Towards the end of 2010, I took up the role of Music Supervisor for Downing, a short film which has since been shortlisted for Iris Prize 2011 and Rhode Island Film Festival 2011. I worked with musicians to license tracks and to create the right sound for the film.

I was involved in the commercial release of BBC Radio 1Xtra - The Album. I consulted on track choice and sound to best represent BBC Radio 1xtra
