Formerly co-founder@fflick r&d@digg search@yahoo. I make features, products, and companies rooted in data. I also occasionally make food with fun kitchen gadgets.
I went to school for a quarter century and left with a phd of equal parts machine learning, natural language processing, and computational learning theory. A decade later, all of that is called data science, but science is about testing hypotheses, so I call myself a data engineer because I build things. The most fun things to build are surprising, amusing, and helpful and change the way people live and see the world.
