I was a waitress for 20 years, eventually owning a restaurant. Virtually everything I learned which made me an exceptional waitress also made me an exceptional leader and CEO.

I went back to college at age 40 when I realized I simply was not going to get where I wanted to go without a college degree. At age 40 and through the next decade I earned my AAS, BS, MS and now PhD all while working two jobs (waiting tables 4 nights per week in addition to my 9-5 job with the social services).
