Dawn Keller
Director of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation in Chicago, Illinois
Founder and Director of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and education. We admit over 3,400 injured and orphaned wild animals each year and provide medical care, food and housing. Our goal is always to release animals to the wild once they recover from their injuries. One of my greatest joys in life is giving an animal a second chance by saving its life and then setting it free. We also have some amazing education birds, which are permanently non-releasable due to their injuries. They are our education ambassadors. Before founding Flint Creek Wildlife, I was a corporate executive that wore suits every day! My life changed one night when I found an injured animal on my way home from the office. Now I work for free but feel that my work today is far more important than when I was in corporate America.
