Dawson Ayers

Hi I'm Dawson and I'm a drummer. In high school, I played the trombone, but during that time, the percussionists would let me mess around on their snares and bass drums and that's when I came to the realization that I had a knack for percussion based instruments. I began drumming to music at my church about 3 years ago, and played every Wednesday night since then. I didn't have a set at home, so I had to listen to the song we were playing beforehand and figure out the notes and rhythm on my own. This made improving my abilities a lot more difficult, but slowly and steadily, I got better and better until I became confident in my playing abilities. A year ago, a manager at the grocery store I used to work at approached me and asked if I wanted to drum for a singing group that he was a part of. Obviously, I agreed and I soon became the drummer for "In His Image", a gospel singing group that has been together for around 15 years. I played only a few events with them until we recorded a demo to send out to various churches in the area, and if we end up playing enough venues, we might end up recording a cd.
