Growing up, I have always loved listening to music. More specifically classic rock. There is just something about classic rock music that makes me happy. The true and genuine sounds that come from artists between the nineteen seventies and eighties sounds so much better to me than the sounds of more contemporary and modern artists. I even like listening to people such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. These two people were very influential to many future artists and have altered the path for music because of their influence. John Lennon, a member of the Beatles said, “Without Elvis, there would be no Beatles." Another type of music that I like is country music. I am from South Georgia so it is not surprising that I would like country music. Country music is my roots. Even though I listen to classic rock more often than I do country, one could say that I actually relate more to country music.Listening to various types of music growing up has really taught me to appreciate different artists and music as a whole. Music is such a great thing. It can be therapeutic and one can listen to it to satisfy any mood. I personally use music to pick me up when I'm down, pump me up when I'm excited, and comfort me when I'm sad.
