Catalina Island California

Blogging is a way for me to figure that out. As of yet I don't really know who I am.

I was born December 12, 1966 in LA California. My father was on a minesweeper off the coast of Vietnam. I didn't meet the man until I was 6 months old at a hospital he was at on Hawaii. He had lost all his fingers on one hand. He never recovered mentally from the trauma he had endured as a soldier and as a wounded soldier. My parents eventually divorced and I did not meet my dad again until I was 24.

When I was 7 my mother remarried the only man I knew to be my father and then he moved us to Athens Greece where I grew up until I was 15. We then moved to Virginia where I endured much. I quit school and got married at 17 and had a daughter when I was 18. I began my own pet grooming business and was making a very good living at the age of 24. My husband was extremely abusive and after going underground with my daughter and losing everything I finally escaped him when I was 28. I remarried a dear friend when I was 30 but quickly realized the fantasy of that individual was much better than the reality. While married and raising my daughter I got my BS in Biology then began my Masters at William and Mary where I ran the animal research department.

I visited my parents in 2005 in Utah and realized they were in trouble health wise so I moved my husband and I out to Utah. I thought the moved would revive my marriage but I think bu then that ship had sailed. I taught highschool for a couple of years but health problems prevented me from continuing as stress began to incapasitate me. I left my husband in 2009 and moved an hour north to Moab. I began a grooming business there and began to rebuild after many hardships hit me pretty hard.

Last year I had to give up my business, home and life to move in with my parents and I spent my dads final five months being both of my parents care giver as my mom was in a wheel chair full time by then. Last October my father passed away so I moved my mother in with me and my fiancee in Moab. I got married in November to my hero and we then moved my mother back to her childhood home on Catalina Island California.

I have come to that point in my life where I need to tackle the demons I have run from my whole life as I met many more. My blogs are about my Journey and my art.
