I was born in Cumaná, Venezuela. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Elmira College (NY) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I'm currently pursuing my PhD degree in Integrated Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology, Immunology, and Biochemistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, in association with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Memphis (TN). I am completing my research work under the advise of Dr. Chi (Immunology). I am particularly interested in understanding the role of glycolysis in T cell-mediated immune response.

I'm the Founding President of both the Rotaract Club of Cumaná (Dist. 4370 - Venezuela) and the Rotaract Club of Elmira College (Dist. 7120 - NY). I was named Outstanding Member of the Class of 2012 of Elmira College. In 2013, I was voted Rotaractor of the Year of Dist. 4370.
