Don Burkett is a visionary & pioneer in sports psychology. He launched his career as a University Professor and Coach where he integrated sports with eastern thinking (such as Zen mindfulness) to teach one of the first sports psychology courses in America. This was followed by founding his own sports psychology school at Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Is., SC at the world’s largest sports resort. Here, he served as VP of Sports where he worked with thousands of amateur athletes and some of the top professional athletes in the world and where he wrote his first book entitled Peaking Through Tennis, A Mind Body Guide to Peak Performances. Don’s work has been featured in major sports publications such as Tennis Magazine, World Tennis & Sports Illustrated & in national newspapers.
Don then applied sports psychology to winning in the game of business where he coached executives as business athletes to reach the summit of success. More so, he worked as a resort consultant and developer where he served on development teams to create the vision for some of the largest and best sports resorts in America to include Sea Pines Resort @ Hilton Head Island SC, Amelia Island, FL, Kiawah Island, SC and Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Vail, CO. Don then joined forces with his brother Dick (a former Vice President of Marriott Hotels) where they worked together on boutique hotel and resort projects.
In recent years Don has worked as a life success coach where he has applied the secrets of winning in sports and business to winning in the game of life in his private practice in Boulder, Colorado.
