Shawn Sukumar

Hi, I'm Shawn, a criminal defense attorney in DC. I was born and raised in the District of Columbia and have devoted my entire legal career to the practice of criminal defense.

I received my Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law in 2008, and have a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University, where I graduated with honors.

Following law school, I completed a clerkship at the highly respected Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia in the Trial Division, where I worked on a range of cases that included allegations of sexual assault, drug crimes, and gun charges.

In 2010, I worked at the Clark County Public Defender’s Office in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Murder Division. I also draws upon my previous experience working for the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council in Atlanta, Georgia.

I am currently a criminal attorney with Price Benowitz LLP with a focus on DUI, theft, failure to appear, and many other criminal offenses.
