Dan Draper

I'm a passionate technologist and an Entrepreneur. I have been cutting code since I was 10 but have always had a penchant for business and commercialisation.

I've founded and grown to startups and have had a good share of both successes and failures. I'm now investing my time in my third business, Codehire which aims to change the way corporations hire software coders.

While I love the business side, I'm still very much an active coder and I'm constantly striving to improve my skills. I have worked on some large apps that require strong attention to code quality and consistency and pride myself on the analysis and selection of appropriate design-patterns and architectures.

I have been heavily involved in the Ruby community in Australia for several years having started using it professionally in 2006. Previously I was a Java coder and also have extensive C experience.

A favourite achievement of mine was helping solve significant scalability issues at the 11th hour of an app launch that went on to have one of the fastest growth rates in Australian history.
