Working in the games industry for over ten years, after having spent ten years before that working in Japan.

After graduating Carnegie Mellon with only the slightest Japanese language ablity I headed to Japan and started my career in sales. After realizing how much I enjoyed living in the country, I immersed myself in the language and culture.

With stints at the Economist, US-Japan Business Council and Sony, I ended up at a digital music distribution dotcom just at the peak of the bubble in 2000, which ended up imploding like so many others. But the taste of entertainment content was with me and off I went to work for NTV, one of the largest commercial broadcasters in Japan.

In addition to licensing movies, television dramas, animation and other content to disbtibutors all over the world, I had my hand in crafting the formats for a few programs, one of which ended up being called "Shark Tank" on ABC.

With ten years of Japan under my belt I returned to the US, got my MBA from Wharton, and with a brief sting at Xbox Japan during that time, I went to work in games, first at Seattle's very own Big Fish Games and then Namco Bandai Games America where we cranked out some great hidden object, puzzle, adventure, and card games across PC, Facebook and iPhone / iPad.

With start-up venture fever in full swing, I then started up an app marketing research business called Analytical Path which showed some seeds of promise but, alas, could not get escape velocity. <sigh>

Undeterred, working on several new game concepts and start up ideas, but on the lookout for a venture where I can work with great people on building the next greatest product or service.
