Chicago, Illinois, United States
I'm a co-founder and data scientist at Datascope Analytics, a data-driven consulting and design firm in Chicago, where I've helped companies like P&G, Daegis, and Thomson Reuters use data to solve the right problem. I refuse to be constrained by tools and I'm not afraid to build my own. When I'm not brainstorming data-driven concepts or writing code to analyze/visualize data, I enjoy DIY projects, cooking, playing sports (e.g., running, cycling, golf), reading, and a hearty dose of family time with my wife and two boys.
For the background inclined, I received a BS from the University of Michigan and a PhD from Northwestern University. I've also had the pleasure of speaking at conferences like Strata and publishing peer-reviewed research in journals like Nature, Science, and PNAS that have been featured in places like TIME, Wired, and US News & World Report. I also serve as an advisor to Metis, NUvention Analytics, and Data Science for Social Good.
