Dean Miggins Sr.

My name is Dean Miggins (raised in Piermont NY). I was 5 years old when my parents first learned I had artistic talents. I developed my first portfolio by the time I was 6. I was accepted into art school when I was 6, but my parents could not afford to send me. I continued to draw over the years until I was in junior high school. I gave up my art work for many years to pursue a "real job", well back then I was told art was just a hobby and nothing more. I have worked hard my whole life to support my wife and three children, but I realized while I was doing this I was still using my artistic talents building homes or landscape construction, ponds and waterfalls. I have recently rediscovered my love for art when my daughter asked me to draw some pictures for my grandson's room. I have been drawing again for 2 years or so and have now picked up painting. I now reside in Wilmington, NC where I can be near my grandson who has now become my inspiration for the arts again. I would also like to add that I have been married to my best friend for 25 years, she is my support system and the love of my life. I love you Tina.
