I originally started as an apprentice 'Carpet Layer' 23 years ago nearly to the day. How time flies!!
Terry Harvey's Carpet Court in Nowra NSW to be precise....... 'go the blues' well finally a win!!!

I moved to the Gold Coast 14 years ago, a little bit lost, and a little bit scared... A young boy from 'The Burra' having a crack at 'The Goldie'. The night life, the glitter strip, the opportunities and endless dreams!!

After 3 weeks I rang my mum and said 'I want to come home' My Mum replied instantly 'Son please i beg you just stay there and give it a chance, If you come home now you will regret it for the rest of your life'... I replied 'Mum i can take a hint when i see one', so i stayed for a few weeks more, found a job in Coolangatta laying carpet and vinyl, and yes never went home!!

I have met the most amazing people on this journey, I have evolved as a person and discovered who i am, what i am made of, and how life exists on so many different levels...Life is definitely a journey and not a destination. I don't believe anyone is destined for anything, you need to 'dream out loud' in this life, listen, but be heard and be passionate, dig deep and stand proud of 'Who you are'.

When you leave home, and you go to a new place just one out, your friends become your 'family' and to all my friends that have guided me and still do, I thank you all for the 'endless memories' through the good times and the bad..

My life is on the Gold Coast now, Nobbys Beach, Barchino cafe for coffee and yes drinks at 'The Arc'
My brother moved to the coast sometime later and we ventured into business together, 4 years ago we started 'Carpet Court Southport" and for the last 18 months I have lived in Emerald QLD dedicated to the opening of a new store 'Carpet Court Emerald' which is now going strong and has a great name in the local community. The people in Emerald are i would say some of the most genuine people i have ever met, i have made some very close friends and have enjoyed the challenge, but it is time to go back to what is now home. 'I don't know if i will ever be a queenslander, but my kids will definitely not go for 'The blues"
