Lake Charles to North

I was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. USA. My daddy was a carpenter and farmer and my mother was a homemaker. I was raised "Old School"...which basically means that you are taught to be God fearing, be respectful, have manners, be giving, have morals, and to be loving and caring.. The women took care of the home and raised the kids and the men worked(or as many referred to it as ' bringing the bread to the table') to support and protect his family. My momma and daddy, as we called them, raised me and my siblings to live by and carry on these values. They were strict but loving parents,.which i later on thanked them for that. We didn't always get what we wanted but always had what we needed. They worked hard to take care of me and my siblings. I had a wonderful childhood filled with love, laughter, happiness and adventure. My lessons, both good and bad, were "priceless"! As time went on the roles of the man and woman in the household changed. Over the years I learned that things in life weren't free and that being an adult meant paying bills , balancing schedules, making plans for the future and accepting things that were out of my control as being Gods will. One thing remained the same though,..i never forgot the values my parents instilled in me as a child. As i grew into a teenager i learned just how loving my dad was when he realized i was growing up and heard the words " dad i have a date for the school dance". I always wanted children of my own some day and prayed to be as good a 'mommy' to my babies as my momma was to me. Daddy taught me how a gentleman was to treat a lady and momma taught me how to 'be' a lady. My parents were the first of many blessings in my life. They set the strong foundation that makes me the person i am today. Family was very important and a true friend was forever. And you could take a real man for his word. In Louisiana the French heritage is often referred to as Cajun. I have a strong Cajun French background. My dad passed when i was 16. I was married and divorced 3 times in my life for wrong reasons. I got 7 beautiful kids and 4 grandsons for those lessons. I kept God and faith very close . Now i have been blessed with the love of my life Frank Irvine and a true blessing my kids and grandchildren. I was born to be a mom and thank God for all my beautiful blessings! Prayers really do work! `
