I'm Dean Hachem, an entrepreneur based in Detroit, Michigan. I was born in Lebanon, raised in Kuwait, and came to the United States to study engineering at the University of Michigan. Originally, I planned to return to Kuwait after graduation, but I fell in love with the opportunities and energy here, and I decided to stay and build my life in the U.S. In the 1990s, I followed my passion for food and opened The Sheik Restaurant in West Bloomfield. It was more than a business—it was a way to bring people together through quality food and hospitality. In 2001, I transitioned from street-side dining into the airport food and beverage industry, where I spent over 20 years growing and managing restaurant operations. I’ve always believed in the power of reinvention, staying curious, and leading with integrity. These days, I’m still passionate about entrepreneurship, learning, and enjoying time with family over a great home-cooked meal.
