My story begins around the age of 13. At the time, my older, teenage brother and some of his friends decided starting a parody cover band was a good idea. I sat in on their first “practice” as the annoying little brother. I asked to play the drum kit during a break; Within five minutes, I had surpassed the drummer's abilities, so he picked up the guitar and there I was, a kid, starting a band that years later became something we never expected. As time passed, our group of inexperienced, uneducated musicians took on the name SHAKEN. I spent the bulk of my later teen years into my mid 20s writing, recording, and touring the greater part of the Eastern half of the US. In those 10 plus years, we worked with several producers, had a Billboard charting single among other radio accolades, and worked with/met many artists we looked up to. As all good things do, it had to come to an end. We signed with a record label, and like more often than not, we lost everything we had worked so hard for. At only 24, I had been chewed up and spit out by the industry—the only thing I have ever really know; I had to figure out how to “do life”. Through years of being in the industry, I had picked up audio engineering as a means for income. I've always loved the process of making a record and had been blessed to have made some records in an environment where I was able to learn how to do it the right way. I love music, but I think I have always been more of a fan of making music than of music itself. Digging in to a song, making it into something that reaches that next level, and the journey of capturing that is one of the most rewarding experiences.
More than anything, my purpose revolves around loving people, soaking up as much knowledge and experience that is physically/mentally possible, and doing whatever makes life enjoyable.
