Dean Levin

us

An architecture graduate of the Pratt Institute, Dean Levin is a skilled artist in the New York area. Integrating architectural concepts into his work, he explores the creation of three-dimensional effects through careful attention to space and materials gathered from a community of fellow New York artists. Dean Levin’s technique draws inspiration from his early-career days, during which time he redesigned bathrooms for an architecture firm and spent a considerable amount of time studying tile samples. An aesthetic appreciation for tiled grids led him to create his first series using turpentine-laced oil paint.

Mr. Levin participated in his first exhibition, a group show entitled WORKING ON IT, in October 2012 at the TEMP Art Space. His work has continued to appear in group exhibitions, including the Savage Detectives exhibition he co-curated in 2013 and the Paintings show at the Fredric Snitzer Gallery in Miami, Florida. In May 2014, Dean Levin received the opportunity to hold his first solo exhibition at the Robert Blumenthal Gallery in New York. Entitled 1x1, the show featured an interactive sculpture that contained a series of stacked paintings.

Dean Levin donates artwork to several nonprofit organizations, including RxArt, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and TWO x TWO for Aids and Arts. He also has supported Locust Projects and Harlem’s Studio Museum through art donations.
