Dean McCall

Dean McCall is a well-known startup and venture advisor, mentor and investor hailing from the Austin / San Antonio area, now in Toronto, Canada. Dean is involved in the Canadian startup eco-system and works to help early stage startups scale, raise, and become profitable businesses. Dean is a natural born connector and has strong relationships on both sides of the border in investment and technology. Dean works closely with promising startups from both the US and Canada who are serious about scale and looking to grow beyond their borders.

Dean is passionate about the future of education and currently serves as Entrepreneur In Residence for Pearson Canada working on digital innovation products for mathematics and educational curriculums.

Currently Dean serves as either a board member or advisor to the following organizations: South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Conference, the Rice Alliance for Technology & Entrepreneurship, and the University of Texas – San Antonio Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Dean has previously advised or is currently advising the following privately held companies: Verelo (Acquired by Dyn), MaestroFM, ShopLocket, Cloudability, Mercury Fund, Keen IO, Appsembler, Epic Playground, Vidmaker, Conspire, Emergent One, Drifty, Ziptask, and TechStars Cloud.
